''The earth is empty, are we unaware?
There is a migration to the sun, but are we the only ones left?''
Necip Fazılkısakürek
Turkish Poet, Necip Fazıl, from the lines of the poem Letter to Mehmet from Dungeon. Of course, Necip Fazıl expressed the persecution he saw here in a figurative sense.
Obstacles on our way to the sun?
- Changing Temperature: As you get closer to the Sun, the temperature can rise up to millions of degrees. However, this temperature is only the surface temperature. Temperatures are much higher in the inner parts of the Sun.
- Radiation: The Sun emits not only heat, but also high-energy radiation such as harmful ultraviolet, X and gamma rays. This radiation can rapidly degrade any material.
- Solar Wind: Particles (solar wind) are continuously emitted from the Sun. These particles can damage the electronic systems of spacecraft.
What kind of technology is needed to go to the Sun?
To approach the Sun, a spacecraft with the following features is needed:
- Heat Shield: An extremely durable heat shield that can block the Sun's heat and radiation. This shield is usually made of multi-layered and special materials.
- Cooling System: An advanced cooling system to keep the internal temperature of the spacecraft under control.
- Radiation Protection: Radiation resistant materials and systems to protect electronic systems and astronauts.
- Power Supply: A powerful energy source that can operate and communicate with the spacecraft.
Nasa's Parker Solabe spacecraft continues its detection work.
With the developing technology, human beings can go to the sun with a special vehicle.
